The sight Relief team is planning camps across multiple locations through the stunning and remote region of Chitral in northern Pakistan. Chitral is impacted by high levels of poverty with most of the population living in remote villages away from larger town and limited access to primary healthcare. We plan to focus in the Drosh area and valleys, visiting the world-famous Kalash valley and then the surrounding regions of Chitral town itself. The aim of the screening mission to test over 1000 people in May 2023 and issue spectacles and arrange cataract surgeries or further treatment as required. We will also be distributing some aid donated to us by friends and family in Glasgow, in the form of clothes and shoes to orphans. In addition, we are looking to establish relationships to support ongoing services in the area and facilitate regular visits by the local teams in the future.
